Red wine - Dettori - Chimbanta Monica Romangia IGT
€31.50
The depth of the Chimbanta is great: dark, it is a wine that wants to be discovered, straight yet broad, with the intense fruit of plum and myrtle acting as a thick weave, to be supported by the nose. The sip is iridescent, electric, powerful, driven by gentle yet powerful tannins. A very long finish, perfuming the empty glass for hours. This is Chimbanta: a powerful taste of the Mediterranean.

Syrah in purity, born from the heart of our estate, on that bush-trained vineyard where the stone component becomes preponderant. The expressiveness of the vine is phenomenal: plums, blueberries, spices, liquorice, smoky tones and leather. Incede mysterious and gives a pyrotechnic finish.

The Tenores asks the questions and provides the answers, it reveals and describes from the very first sip the place where it was born. Harmony that brings together the robustness of the pulp with the delicacy of the tannins, the warmth of the sip with the salty freshness of the myrtle and all the medicinal herbs of the Mediterranean maquis. Balance, madness and spontaneity. This is our Tenores: harmonious and vibrant song that comes from the earth.

Pignolo, an ancient grape from the Abbey of Rosazzo, meets the international Merlot found in the Friulian hills. This union represents the quintessence of Friuli, enhancing the stylistic evolution of our Ronco della Torre.
Unique. It has strength, never muscular, its is Character. Rough and elegant, a sip that becomes a bite of Mediterranean scrub, of sun-ripened fruit. And that finish that swirls over the mouth like a warm wind. This is Ottomarzo: lone protagonist of an almost forgotten grape variety.Name: It is the power of memory, 8 March 1920 is the date of birth of Giovanni Antonio Dettori.

Vigna La Monaca, two hectares planted in 2011 at an altitude of 320 m a.s.l., is characterised by a soil with a more sandy texture (37.4% of sand and 12.5% of clay), which is well aerated, very draining and therefore drier, making the vines less vigorous. The north-eastern exposure ensures good luminosity but less influence from the hot summer temperatures; this means that in the hottest and driest years the vine suffers less, maintaining constant ripening. The presence of active limestone facilitates the development of aromas and the wealth of potassium favours the accumulation of sugars, aromas and anthocyanins. The low vigour, low productivity and the characteristics of the soil are favourable for a balanced and complete ripening of the grapes, more suitable for structured red wines with long ageing. The training system is espalier, with Guyot pruning and a density of 4600 vines per hectare.

The result of the interaction between Nerello Mascalese and Etna's volcanic soils, this wine is born on terraces surrounded by chestnut and downy oak forests in an area rich in biodiversity. Soft tannins, good drinkability and freshness. It is aged in large Slavonian oak barrels, a non-invasive wood as Nerello Mascalese requires.

Refined and elegant, it is an intense straw-yellow colour with a continuous and very fine perlage.
The nose is characterised by a rich and complex bouquet with clear notes of pastry, toast and candied citrus fruits.
The palate is opulent with considerable structure, but extremely fine and elegant at the same time, supported by a savoury backbone that makes it long and persistent.

Etna's Nerello Mascalese, thanks to its light, brilliant colour, historically lends itself to producing quality rosé wines. From a parcel of a vineyard in Contrada Rampante, comes Tefra - from the Greek word for 'ash' - the pyroclastic material generated by a volcanic eruption. The nose is delicate and clean, true to Nerello Mascalese; very dynamic in the mouth, thanks to its freshness and sapidity.

The soils of the island of Mozia derive from seabed of marine origin. They are sandy and loose soils. The presence of limestone is important, which causes an alkaline reaction in the soil (pH 8.2) and influences the organoleptic characteristics of the grapes.
The depth of the soil allows the sapling to develop properly. The 'Marsala style' pruning is the most appropriate for Grillo, given the low fertility at the base of the shoot. Harvesting, slightly ahead of ideal ripeness, preserves some acidity to maintain the freshness of the sip and the longevity that the white of Mozia has demonstrated over the years.
The weather on the island of Mozia was characterised by a cool spring, with good rainfall in March that ensured a good water supply to the vines throughout the production cycle. Summer was very hot and dry, but well tolerated by the alberello, the typical form of cultivation of Grillo vines on the island of Mozia.
The harvest began on 18 August, starting with the young Khoton vineyard, and continued until 28 August with the harvest from the Eastern Steps vineyards.
Perfect ripeness and health of the grapes, good sugar content and excellent structure and aromaticity of the wine.
San Francesco is the vineyard that represents the emblem of our work at Regaleali, the incessant research and innovation of our team to improve the quality of our wines. Planted in 1985 by Lucio Tasca, it was divided into two different portions due to the nature of the soil. The higher part, on the south-eastern slope of the Canalotto valley, at an altitude of between 532 and 585 metres, was reserved for Cabernet Sauvignon. The soil is made up of sand and sandstone of variable grain, the texture is partly clayey and calcareous, with a slightly alkaline pH (8.3). It is a moderately deep soil, in which the development of the vine root system is abundant in the first 60 centimetres and more moderate up to one metre deep. It has a normal organic substance content and is rich in minerals such as magnesium and potassium, while it is poor in phosphorous. The vines are planted at a spacing of 2.60 by 1.1 metres (3,490 plants per hectare). The training system is espalier, with short spurred cordon pruning. Cabernet Sauvignon is a late variety, with a very long vegetative arc. The grapes are hand-picked by expert vine-dressers who are able to select the bunches already in the vineyard, and the harvest takes place on average between mid-September and the first ten days of October.
With this 100% Catarratto, which has been widely planted in Sicily since very ancient times, the Mazzei family continues its efforts to enhance Sicily's indigenous grape varieties. The pedoclimatic peculiarities of the Zisola estate, with its highly calcareous soil and proximity to the sea guaranteeing excellent ventilation, combined with the low-yield bush-training method of cultivation and the characteristic acidity of Catarratto, guarantee a fresh and long-lived wine.
