Moganazzi and Guardiola, with Santo Spirito close behind, have always been considered the best terroirs in the municipality of Castiglione, the largest on Etna's northern slopes. Consequently, in 2007, when I discovered a tiny plot of Moganazzi for sale, I grabbed it without hesitation. But it was so tiny that I decided to dedicate its splendid wine - two barriques! - to a charity project linked to the Meyer paediatric hospital in Florence.

Les Cretes, by processing its Pinot Noir in steel only, obtains an elegant mountain Pinot, which is characterised by its luminous colour and complex, crisp fruit. Ruby with garnet reflections. Fruity nose (strawberry), with hints of sage and grapefruit. Fine, harmonious structure on the palate, accompanied by velvety tannins in a fresh, mineral finish.

Les Cretes began producing its Syrah in 1995 as a table wine because it was not recognised as a D.O.P. in Valle d'Aosta. In 2007, legislation changed and since then Les Cretes has continued to produce its Syrah D.O.P., renowned for its minerality and freshness, linked to its mountain character.

Eloro Pachino DOC red wine made from 100% Nero d'Avola grapes. Intense olfactory complexity of sweet spices, black cherry and bitter oranges. Harmonious and full in the mouth with soft tannins and a long, persistent finish of bergamot and peony. Elegant and charmingly balanced, a sincere expression of our terroir.

Graci's Etna Rosso 'Arcuria Sopra il Pozzo' is one of the most prestigious labels in the entire Etna area. It is a red of the highest quality, which, while retaining a typically territorial face, goes well beyond the horizon of the volcano to become part of the circle of the greatest wines of our peninsula. It is the fruit of meticulous zoning and research work, conducted with separate vinification of every single parcel of the estate's vineyards. Every year, this small vineyard of just over one hectare in the Arcuria district always yields wines of superior quality, just like the Grand Crus of Burgundy. This gave rise to the idea of enhancing it with an ad hoc label that would make its fascinating face known.

'Arcuria Sopra il Pozzo' is an Etna Rosso produced by one of the most important wineries in the Etnean territory. Graci has always stood out for a range of high-profile wines, made with craftsmanship and love for their land. The Vigna Sopra il Pozzo is located at Contrada Arcuria, in the Passopisciaro area, at an altitude of 600-700 metres above sea level. The soils are of volcanic matrix and in this parcel have a particular texture, consisting of overlapping and alternating layers of lava stone and coarse sand. At the end of the harvest, with yields of less than 40 quintals per hectare, the grapes are sent for fermentation in open oak vats with a long period of maceration on the skins. Before bottling, the wine matures for 18-24 months in large oak barrels.

Graci's Etna Rosso 'Arcuria Sopra il Pozzo' is an excellence that expresses the luminous purity of Nerello Mascalese. It is only made in the most favourable vintages, when the grapes reach an absolutely ideal degree of ripeness and aromatic intensity. In the glass it is a light ruby red colour, almost transparent. The olfactory profile is refined and of great finesse, characterised by scents of redcurrant, raspberry, blood orange, pomegranate, hints of aromatic herbs of the Mediterranean maquis and nuances of graphite. The sip is harmonious with a delicate aromatic facet that slowly opens up to a deep expressive complexity. The tannic texture is very fine, well integrated with the body of the wine, which harmoniously envelops it. The finish is elegant, persistent, fresh and savoury.
